Forerunner 235 ~ on hold?, can't fine one anywhere

I'm really liking the 235 spec's and screen size, but I couldn't buy one now if I wanted to (and I have tried!). My local running store (Striders in Grandville Michigan) hasn't seen one yet and Best Buy can't order them either. Soooo, are these widely available yet?, or should I just hang on to my 210 and just keep running with it for the next few months?

Seems like a number of people have them, did they put a "stop sale" on them for some reason? I have no problem waiting just kind of bummed that it wasn't under the tree Christmas morning.
  • I completely refuse to buy one until either Best Buy or my local retailer gets them. So to say that it's "easy" to get one in the US ... well that's "not exactly" completely accurate.

With all three colors currently in stock and ready to ship at amazon and CleverTraining and REI.com and RunningWarehouse.com (just checked), anyone who wants one could have it in their hands in a matter of days. Even tomorrow if you wanted to pay for next-day air. So it's clearly quite easy to get a 235 in the US.

That someone makes an individual choice to self-impose restrictions on where/when they'll allow themselves to buy a 235 doesn't change the validity of my statement.
  • Just had a quick look and it seems to be available in a variety of UK outlets but not all of them.

So kind of similar to what gpb11 mentions for the USA, if you want one full stop you can buy one in the UK. If it has to from a certain shop then maybe not. Personally am never too bothered where get something from as long as the price and return policy is OK for you.

Please read "some" of the thread before posting...

Both of these statements have already been asked and answered.
  • OK I have read the whole thread again.

"can't fine one anywhere" - everybody else can find one somewhere.

"should I just hang on to my 210 and just keep running with it for the next few months?"
I think you have answered that yourself - yes I believe you should.
  • The watch is CLEARLY available (in the US at least)

Just because someone has their own 'rules' about who/what/where they will order, the simple fact is there are at minimum 2 HUGE NAME places that have them in stock right now. REI has all colors in stock and so does Amazon. If you don't want to purchase from them that's entirely your decision, but creating any hype about "not available" is pretty much ridiculous. You probably need to create a different thread complaining about the lack of availability at whatever store it is you are willing to purchase it from. Software things that need to be fixed, yes, but for the week and a half I have had mine (Clever Training where all colors were in stock also) for running mine has worked perfectly fine as good as the 225 I sold to get it. Other areas where I'd love to see software updates improve stuff, yes. If you really actually want one you can get one, if you don't have one then clearly you don't really want one very bad right now.

    Really?

Why is this thread still open? The OP has been answered over and over again. There were several places suggested where one can be purchased, but the response to everyone's answers are "It's not Best Buy, or my local store.", "I don't want to order online.", "Garmin must be delaying full introduction", etc..., etc... It's obvious the OP doesn't want a FR235, they just want everyone to know why they don't have one. Will a moderator please lock or close this useless thread?

Fyi...I ordered the black/gray one week ago from rei and it was on backorder but it's shipping today and will be here by Thursday....about two weeks from order date.
    Looking forward to it.
