WHR Sensor Hub Update 2.40

Just installed the newesr WHR update... will be interesting to see if the 66 bug is gone and how 24/7 HRM and battery life will behave.

Contains:
- fix for 66 bug
- improved battery life in 24/7 mode

Is there an update details list somewhere? I installed the update but wasn't sure what it updated.

I never had the "66" issue. The only weird thing I had was when checking the HR it would first go to around 71bpm, then slowly adjust down to my actual HR.

I have also noticed The thing with the HR widget first going to 72 and then dropping again... don't think it's a bug though, just by design.
  • Are there any fixes for getting 3-4 consecutive duplicate HR values?

It doesn't say anything about this. I will check my fit files later or tomorrow morning and see what they show...

Yeah, get off the sofa... :D Just kidding.

Garmin isn't usually verbose about what all is fixed in an update. If you're not feeling adventurous, best thing is to give it a couple days to see what people report back.

I'm just trying to figure out if I should upgrade come Christmas :)
  • I think the question to ask yourself is whether you're looking for an activity tracker with HRM that also does GPS activity tracking, or are you looking for a GPS running watch with a built in HRM that also does activity tracking and HR monitoring. It seems the 235 is geared more towards the latter in terms of its design priorities.

It's probably a little early to see what the actual results of the new firmware are, best to give it a day or so.
  • So it does appear to be sampling more often, and I think as a result of that I'm getting some high spikes that I wasn't getting prior to this update. But that's fine - the spikes are exactly that - just spikes, just noise.
  • Hi Guys - The sensor hub 2.40 update only includes the fix for the 66bpm issue. There are no other changes.

Except the change log also states
    - improved battery life in 24/7 mode
So clearly there are some other changes.

Apologies PZ_Rider. Just saw that you're a super moderator. So obviously you'd know more about this than anybody else who comes here. Thanks for the clarification.
