HRM on Apple Watch vs. 235

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with both the Apple Watch & the Garmin 235 in regards to the heart rate monitoring and how they compare to each other? I know there has been some concern with the HRM on the 235 and of course the Apple Watch is a 1st generation product.
  • I will tell you that for 24/7 HR monitoring, the Fitbit seems much better than my 235. It does not sample enough, proven by the fact that when you pull up the HR page, the reading is way off for at least 15 seconds, when it really starts pulling numbers. It should be noted that this page will time out and jump back to the clock page in about 20 seconds. It is a terrible flaw, and hopefully this will be fixed with updates.

Yes. What I have observed is that when I pull up the HR page, the HR first goes to exactly 72bpm (a widely accepted "normal" HR for the general population). It is only after some time that the HR number drifts toward your current HR.
