Okay, completed my first run with my new Forerunner 235 and I'll start off with the following:

Speed Source from Foot Pod on outdoor runs please!

This would be a great addition to the watch. It was a nice improvement on the 920xt and the 235 could definitely stand to have the same feature.

A shortcut for locking the keys would be great. So instead of having to press and hold the ^ key, then press up again to get to the key lock option, then select it, something involving fewer key presses. Even if the press and hold on the ^ key took you straight to the key lock option (instead of music control) so you just have to confirm you want the key lock after the press and hold.

calendar notifications even w/o phone connected

Would be great if Garmin implemented a calendar/timeline like pebbles. Keep a few days cached on the watch (I know the memory is very limited, but that is true also for pebbles) so that we can access it even if not hooked up to a phone (when running w/o a phone) and great would be if the cached calendar items generate/mimic notifications on the watch (again even w/o a phone hooked up). That case when running w/o the phone we get calendar notifications (meeting in 15min, etc). Thanks!

Smart Notifications for Chinese Characters

Smart Notifications for Chinese characters please. Any messages contain Chinese characters will not display.

This is very annoying.

You'd need an APAC version of the FR235, but at least it's something money can buy

I'm pretty sure the FR235 product can already do this, evidenced by these images I found on the Web:

Maybe not the particular unit you have, if you did not buy yours in China or Taiwan.

Anyone know where I can download the Chinese firmware? I need the Chinese display man. This is like going back to The last century man... language issue.

Continuous vibration option during incoming phone call.

Currently it only vibrates ONCE.

Anyone know where I can download the Chinese firmware? I need the Chinese display man. This is like going back to The last century man... language issue.

Check with Garmin, but as I understand it is the APAC firmware is only for APAC HW (the part numbers are different, and that determines what FW is available for what device).

Also note that "APAC" is a bit generic, as there is a version for Japan, Korea, and China for some devices. The symbol languages are different enough and much larger than character languages, so they only handle English and the specific language.

Garmin - Share an Idea form

I just finish a phone call with Garmin Australia. They have asked me to submit the idea at the Idea Sumission Page:

This is what I have submitted:
1. Smart Notifications for Chinese characters. Currently, when I received text with Chinese character, it will not display on the watch. Please add this important feature. This is a dealer breaker as I can imagine many users are bilingual and even trilingual/multilingual.

2. Continuous vibration during incoming phone call. This will ensure we never missed a phone call. Which is important. Currently it vibrates ONCE only.

3. Alarm: Able to select desirable days. Currently only weekdays or weekends are selectable.
