Is anyone happy with their 235??

My 235 has been ordered and it should be with me in a few days. I understand that these forums tend to attract posts from users with issues and problems which I have been reading with interest.
But... is anyone actually happy with their 235 and have not had any of the issues discussed??? Is everyone sending their 235's back for a refund and should I cancel my order???
I'm trying to keep optimistic about my purchase :)

    Hi, New to this forum and haven't read all the previous 13 pages.

    I'm pretty happy with the watch. The heart rate monitor is pretty poor though, not accurate at all.
  • Am I happy with my 235 ? Yes

    I've had my 235 for a couple of months now and can say I'm happy with it. Sure there are a few things I would like it to do which it does not, but I can't fault the 235 for not doing things it's not programmed to do. The 235 is comfortable to wear, records my runs perfectly (and my walks although not ideally - I use the HR monitor to pace me), syncs without any problems and has an OK battery life.

    Being in my 40s and little short sighted, the best feature of the 235 is for me is the large face size

    I've not tried all the products out there of course but I think it's the best out there for the money.

    quite satisfied

    Am I happy?
    Short answer: Yes.

    Could the ohrm be better? Yes (faster resonse to sprints, better at reacting to hr when lifting weights, doing pull-ups and on the elliptical).

    Is the ohrm working as expected? Yes.

    Are the battery life, running data, gps and other functions as expected? Beond expectations.

    Very Pleased with mine

    I am new to the game of gps watches and things so my opinion may not have much weight to it, but I LOVE mine.

    There is one thing that I am having an issue with, but it is minor and i believe it is more the phone than the watch.

    I am happy with my mine. Wish garmin connect had better connectivity functions. Some of site I use are:

    * Microsoft Health Vault
    * Sleep as Android
    * Link to my Android phone to use under Smartlock.

    Regards,

    Generally OK - but for HR I'm not sure.

    I have had mine for little over a month now. Tracked 44 exercises. And in general I'm satisfied, but for the HR I'm not convinced that it is that trustworthy.

    This is my first running watch with logged HR, so I have nothing but other runners graphs of HR (done with other running watches) to compare with. These all seem less erratic and without spikes. I suspect mine are too high for periods.

    For example. Take a look of todays half marathon with height, pace and HR. A little bit after 33:20 HR goes way up and stays until around 1h. Nothing that I felt on my body. This is not the first exercise with HR going up without pace or height following it. I'm 48 years old, and todays temperatures were steady around 10 deg. cels.

    Is this normal? Graph is clipped from connect.garmin.com.

    Good Battery Life

    I am very satisfied with the Battery Life.

    Last week I charged on Monday. Last the entire week with 4 Activities averaging 40-50min each. 24x7 HR, Notification Turned on. And today Morning (Monday) it still has 24% battery charge left, now I kept it for Charging. Technically it lasted me an entire week with 24% left at the end of it.

    That's why I always saw, with this watch I have to wait to charge it 😜
  • Yeah, I am quite happy now (bought it in december) but it took some time and adjusting...

    What I love:

    • The flexibility! So amazing...
      - Custom watch faces (currently big fan of the Digic Watch)
      - Nice and handy widgets (currently using compass, gps info with speed and orientation, crumbs, steps and heartrate graph)
      - Custom apps (Hike (loving it!), Find my car, DwMap, Stopwatch)
      - Custom datafields (Chart Beta, custom runner fields, etc)
    • The looks.
      I wear the watch as my daily watch and it looks just fine, also love the stepcounter/daily heartrate info, etc.
    • Battery life
      Really am pretty amazed, even with the increased sampling I can last a few days to a week on a single charge. As I usually sync through my pc after a run or activity it usually get charged before that though.
    • OHR, well... the fact it has it that is. I love not having to use a chest strep mainly :)

    Biggest annoyance(s):
    OHR: It just isn't all that yet. It seems to really have improved with the latest update (for me that is, seems to have messed things up for others) but it still has issues with intervals, values are still off every now and then, etc

    But yeah, I really needed quite some time to adjust and accept the limitations of Garmins OHR implementation, but time, the other aspects of the watch and the recent update have made it bearable and the other features make up for it.

    So yeah. by now I am actually happy... Even though sometimes still annoyed ;)
  • NOT Happy at all

    I really like the watch itself, but I would be happy of buying 230 without HR sensor which is 100$ less and have much more battery life (HR eats battery). The OHR sensor of 235 version is really sucks: when it works (yes, sometimes it doesn't work at all) - it doesn't have the right measurements. Just payed more and got less.

    See a few examples of my running activities:

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1131471882
    Average HR is 139bmp and the first 8 minutes the OHR wasn't working at all

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1116683626
    Average HR is 114bpm

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1060012337
    Average HR is 126bmp
    (and should be around 155bpm)

    And I am not talking about burn calories. This is just a joke.
