On some devices, like the vivoactive, you get a vibration and a toast on the screen when you hit your step goal, and if you're on the watchface, you also get a little "fireworks" show, so it's a feature on some garmin stuff.

To be honest, with the vivoactive, I found a way to turn it off. One thing available with many CIQ watchfaces, is your steps and goal change color when you've reach your daily goal, so it's easy to see at a glance if you're above your goal.
Yeah, I expected to be there because my wife's Vivosmart has it. It was a nice thing that I got used to using my previous device (Fitbit Surge). Not a huge deal, the watchface I use clearly shows if the goal has been reached or not, I just thought that whatever feature was present in lower end device (like the Vivosmart), would be present in more expensive devices. New to Garmin, just trying to understand the ecosystem and how Garmin tiers their products.
