230 vibration / sound alerts

I've read on the 630 forum that the vibration and sound alerts are less discernible and because they are not as loud or vibrate less, people miss their interval Q's whether it be for HR, time, distance etc so I'm wondering if the 230 has the same problem. Thanks. I have the 610 for reference. tks. I haven't checked the 235 forum yet.
  • Did a set of 2x8x30/30 this morning, first time with FR230 (from FR610). Freezing cold still here, so hat, gloves, jacket, the works. Beeps are no less/more audible than on 610 (i.e. if I turn my wrist and there isn't loads of cars I hear it, otherwise not), and vibration, while subjectively not as powerful as on 610, cannot be missed even in full interval swing. So no problem for me. I don't use pace/HR alerts for intervals, I find them always useless, but that's personal taste. The other thing that surprised me was the presence of auto-laps when doing an interval program; on the 610, if you do simple or programmed intervals the auto-lap feature is disabled. I was afraid of getting a km auto-lap in the middle of my intervals, but it seems the 230 is smart enough to only do those during the warmup and cooldown phases.
