Forerunner 235 vs TomTom Spark Fitness Cardio+ Music

I am a novice runner and I've used my phone for my runs, although now I am wanting to ditch the phone.

I am tossing up between the FR235 and TomTom Spark 2.

I like the idea of having music on my wrist, although the FR235 looks sexy.

Besides music, looks and price are there any other differences between the two?
  • I've spent a month with the Tomtom Spark Cardio & Music, and prior to that I used a Fitbit Surge for 9 months.
Today I ordered a Garmin Forerunner 235. Basically the Spark shows a fair bit of promise and has much higher build quality than the Fitbit watch but I'm just not confident that they will bring through the promised updates. As it stands their ecosystem is terrible compared to Fitbit or Garmin, and there's a real lack of functionality outside of the actual exercise tracking options.
Also - I thought the Fitbit HR tracking during gym workouts was pretty poor, but it's streets ahead of what the Tomtom is capable of. Both were pretty good for running though.

I'm excited by what the Garmin offers, even if I'm going to have to run with my phone for music again.
    Here's hoping I'm not dissapointed!

    I have both watches (spark & 235)

If you are looking for lots of features, functions (apart from virtual racer  ) and what appears to be more accurate activity tracking then the 235 is the obvious choice.

If you prefer ease of use, swimming or need a virtual-race then the spark/runner2 might be better.

My Gf prefers the spark, I prefer the 235

I find the HR accuracy absolutely fine for general use on both devices.
