screen locked

the screen will lock automatically after 2 seconds and only after push on and of own the on/off button I can use the touchscreen only for 2-4 seconds and wil lock again....

I have same problem. Awakes for a while only after pressing the on/off button on the left side of the unit

garmin offered me a replacement with the Garmin edge 1030 with extra 225,- euro to pay

Have you tried a soft reset? (I had the same symptom)

It worked for me. Alternatively, it will run out of charge and shutdown. You might be able to switch it on again from that state.

Yes, both soft reset and factory resets. Screen locks after a few seconds and to wake it I need to press on/off a few times.

Cannot roll back firmware so I am not sure if it is a problem with 15.50 or not.

I managed a soft reset too. However, I had been riding in torrential rain. On further inspection, there was moisture in the SD card slot. I have an SD card in there too. So I removed it, got as much moisture out as possible and it was OK after that. I dried the SD card, put it back in and all is OK. (I hope!). I have a silicone cover which probably helped the moisture get in.

I gave my edge 1000 gentle hair dryer treatment having both slots (USB and microSD) unplug.

The problem persists. The only way to wake it is to briefly press on/off.

My Garmin edge 1000 has started doing this as well. Performed the resets but the device only works for a few seconds then everything freezes again. Did anyone get to the bottom of this problem?
