No Bluetooth pairing on 15.30

I recently updated my Edge 1000 to 15.30. After the update I tried to pair my device with a new phone and it refuses to complete the pairing process. I have tried pairing through the Connect app and through Bluetooth settings. Each time it gets to the phase where the phone displays the Bluetooth pairing code but the Edge device does not show the code or go any further. It stops here-

  • Grrrr not working for me either. Samsung A30, Android 9. Garmin 15.30.

    Sending me nuts

  • Same issue. Been through all the steps.

Do you all test your updates before you unleash them on the paying customer?

Fixed it. Factory reset on the Edge 1000.

Worked immediately after, no weird order, no messing about.

  • A factory reset also fixed it for me when absolutely nothing else would. I have a Oneplus 6T. Wasn't totally smooth. Native pairing didn't work immediately. Switching over to Garmin app pairing eventually did it.

  • Same for me. Reluctantly did a factory reset. All good now.

Hi, 15.40 is now out... I also needed to do a factory reset to make it all work again. I'm also getting issues with the LiveTrack and currently testing the clear Bluetooth cache on Android to see if it works... will report back!

  • I have the same issue. Tried these steps to no aval! Garmin Connect version4.34 Garmn Edge 1000 Software Version 15.0 Andriod Version 10. I pick the Edge 1000 up and pair it to my wife's Sasmung Phone works perfectly, I do the same with my daughters iPhone and it works flawlessly. I have enjoyed Garmin products over the years and will have to say this will probably be the last device I purchase. Something should just work! and yet it doesnt. Very upset tsk tsk on you Garmin

  • What makes you so sure it’s not an issue with your Android phone they get updated as well

there are other threads of advice in the 1030 section about pairing with phones when things get sticky

    1. Do the factory reset on your Garmin device. That's the only thing I've ever seen work reliably in this situation based on my own experience and that of others in the forum. The problem is probably not on the phone side.
  • The factory reset on the device is the only thing that worked. So it was not the Android phone. It was the Garmin device after the update that failed. Nothing worked but factory reset. There went the stuff I had stored locally on the device. What a bummer.
