Why does my Edge Explore battery drain when attached to charger? I attached to a charger using the cable that came with the unit. The unit had a battery level of 40% when I plugged it in. Two hours later, the battery level was down to 3%. The same behavior has happened multiple times, but not every time. I tried updating to the most recent software, but it doesn't help. I tried different cables and different chargers, but it doesn't help. I tried plugging it into my PC, but it doesn't help.
In a possibly related matter, sometimes the unit will begin its own ride while attached to a charger. I need to end the ride before I can turn the unit off. While sitting on my desk attached to a charger, the unit will log a ride lasting 1 to 5 hours, covering .1 to 2 km, hitting speeds up to 27 km/h. A ghost ride, however, doesn’t seem to be what drains the battery.
