Physio TrueUp between supported and not supported device

Hi, I have a Fenix 6X Pro watch, and just bought Edge Explore for cycling (waiting for delivery). I want to ask if I can use Physio TrueUp supported on Fenix 6X pro to sync activities started both on watch, and Edge Explore.

Goal is to have metrics from both devices in one activity:

From Edge Explore (used primary as a navigation and screen in front of eyes):  Cadence (external sensor)

From Fenix: HR data from wrist.

Doubled data: i.e. GPS data, distance, calories etc. should be "singled" based on primary device. For example "if doubled metric - use from fenix watch, discard from Edge"

First, when I was reading about this, there was info, that both devices has to be Physio TrueUp supported. But then I found this on Garmin Manual pages:

I have a new Forerunner 645, but I also have an older Edge 810. Will data from my Edge 810 be shared with the Forerunner 645?

Information from incompatible devices will still be shared with your Physio TrueUp compatible device.

So... If I start activity on my fenix, then at the end, activity will contain i.e. cadence data from Edge Explore? Do I have to start activity on Edge Explore?

Thanks in advance.

    No.

Why don't you just connect the cadence sensor to your F6? This way the F6 will collect all the data you want. And you can still use the edge for navigation, but just discard the edge activity instead of saving it to avoid duplicate activities.

  • I would like to see cadence live on Edge during ride. If I connect sensor to f6 it will be only on watch.

  • You can connect the sensor to both devices simultaneously. Unless it's a bluetooth sensor with a single connection channel. Which cadence sensor do you have?

  • I do not have yet. But this is very good advice. I was looking at Magene S3+, but this has BLE 4.0 AFAIK. Multi channel is at 5.0 and over, right?

[EDIT] I've just found, that Magene S3+ can be connected to many devices by ANT+... This is very good information. Thanks a lot :)
