Garmin round trip routing problem.

Hello. I have garmin edge explore. On garmin connect I love function " round trip" where you set distance you want to ride, and garmin app create a route for you. But with this function I have problem, for example : I create a route, start to ride and ahead I see there are road works that impossible to pass, so I start to look other road to get around, but garmin explore constantly beeping and telling I'm off track. Is there any way to make my garmin choose other path when the route is already planned ?

  • Disable Off Course warnings? There is no direct option to disable Off Course warnings for Round Trip courses, so you need a little work-around.

Select the round trip from the 3 that the Edge has calculated, tap the upper title field and choose to save the course. Here you also can give it a name at your choice. Then go back to the Main menu -> Courses -> Saved Courses. Using the hamburger menu (right bottom) you can set the Off Course Warnings to OFF, then select your new round trip course and Ride.

If the beeps are annoying you may set the Tones OFF in the System menu.

The other option is to enable route recalculation (Auto or Prompted), but don't be surprised that after the recalculation the original route may be changed considerably. There is a tendency to recalculate the course directly to the destination (on a round trip this is also the starting point!). So it also depends very much on which point of the round trip you are when recalculation occurs.
