Hi,
I used my Edge Explore, updated with the latest software and the latest maps to bring me to my destination. Google maps said the distance was ~10 km. When I entered the address, the Edge Explore said the distance to my destination was ~58km. On the first crossroad, it wanted to send me in the wrong direction, away from my destination. I went in the opposite direction , ignored please to turn around and kept cycling until roughly halfway to my destination, where the itinerary on the device changed and it told me that I was about 5 or 6 km away from my destination.
On the way back, out of curiosity, I programmed my home address, and the device calculated a 18 km itinerary. The drive home was 10 km, and once more the device came to its senses halfway.
I have had other such experiences, when entering the address of the hospital I wanted to visit, and the device tells me to drive away from my destination at the first main crossroad.
Anyone else have similar experiences? Quite frankly, this way the device is useless unless I first check out the rough outline of my trip on google maps and then continue to cycle until the device comes to its senses.
58 km for a 10 km trip?
