After the update to the 4.10 firmware my display language changed to English on the device although in the settings I have chosen German. I tried changing it to English and then back to German but even though the settings say German everything is in English. Garmin Connect both on the web and in the app are set to German so this can't be the problem. Also, the language files are available on the device. Seems to be a bug. Anyone else has this problem?
I am running v 4.10. If I change the language to German, menu items and data field names are changed to German. I have not reset the unit after the upgrade.
Also Dutch (Nederlands) is selectable and working properly with firmware 4.10. Maybe a full reset to factory settings is worth trying? First make a backup of your current settings and restore them after the reset: https://support.garmin.com/ms-MY/?fa...econfiguration
You could try the following. I have tested the procedure with succes myself on my Edge Explore. I'm using Windows10 Home Edition 64-bit. - Connect the EE through USB - the device obtains a drive letter - H: in my case - Delete all files from the folder ..\Garmin\Text - the Language Files all have the extension .gtt. There are 18 such files in my case (EU version). If not all files can be removed, there maybe are one or more corrupt files and this can possibly the reason you cannot select other languages than English. In any case you should get rid of corrupted files too. Maybe it helps to delete the whole folder 'Text' and re-create a new folder "..\Garmin\Text" after succesfull delete. Maybe you need special tools to delete existing corrupt files and Administrator rights too. - Remove/Eject the EE safely (system tray) - the EE starts up to normal use mode - and switch the EE off (full Power Off). - Detach the USB cable from the PC and the re-connect the EE through USB - When starting Garmin Express the EE will be recognised as 'Connected' and all language Files will be restored automatically during the synchronisation phase. - Using Windows FIle Explorer you can verify that the Language files are resored in the folder ..\Garmin\Text on the EE. - Remove/Eject the EE safely from the PC - the EE will start to normal use mode. You should be able to set the language of your choice now.
Work carefully when deleting files from your EE. Maybe it's wise to make a full backup of all files on the EE first.
