% Grade field is there a way to get it on the device?

i noticed there appears to be elevation but no percent gradient field on the edge explore. Is there a way to get it via 3rd party app?

If not can you recommend an alternative solution? Is it possible to get a small altimeter device to provide a gradient readout?

There a widget in IQ connect that will give it as the MaxGrade for the ride. How do you enable to CIQ data field?

This one from apps.garmin.com by hSoftware gives current gradient - Current Gradient (Grade) [hGrade]

Download to your Edge Explore via Garmin Connect.

To use it you select it from the new "Connect IQ" category when you are customising the data fields for a particular screen.

I downloaded the hSoftware app and it is very unsatisfactory. I had the "-" sign and "%" turned on and the font of the grade display was about 2 point. I have turned off the "-" and "%" as they note/recommend but have not tested the result yet. Is there another app for grade that anyone knows about? I submitted a "tech comment" or whatever about this. It should be built in to the device, like other fundamental ride data.

The MyEdge datafield (which is a whole screen) displays gradient but I cannot vouch for its accuracy. It’s a really nice piece of code with a big analogue speedo.

Check the "Sensible Gradient" data field (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/dab102f5-7172-49e4-9b46-b726a760e2ac). The font works better on the Edge Explore.

Per their instructions, turning off the "+/-" and "%" signs results in a good sized readable font for the hSoftware app. However, the data that it showed during my ride appeared to be complete garbage. I'm going to look into the other apps.

@cdlnden - Agree that the hSoftware gradient field seems pretty random, I've tried fiddling with the settings. The field on the MyEdge display is more stable but still a mile away from what my Fenix shows if I run it in parallel. I didn't spot that the Explore was missing the sensor before I bought it (and the light sensor, and temperature...). Much as I like large display I'm wondering about moving it on and getting a 520plus instead. (The 1030 would be ideal but seems to be plagued with deteriorating displays and issues with sensors disconnecting)
