Not finding satellites

A new Garmin Edge Explore will not locate satellites. I tried syncing with the computer, syncing with my phone, standing outside in the open for 30 minutes and then walking around the block.
The time is also an hour off.

Any ideas? THANKS
  • Time is off because you haven't got a lock. Switch it off, switch it on again then leave it stationary outside with a clear view of the sky. If still nothing return it to the retailer.
  • Mine took a shockingly long time to do the first fix (seriously, over 30 minutes). It's been fine ever since.
  • Mine experience was totally different - the unit got a fix even before finishing initial configuration and I was in the building at that time!
The question is if Yours will be working as expected after the first longer one.
  • Seems like the information to get a faster satellite fix wasn't transmitted correctly, and an 'ignorant' fix of satellites takes a really long time. Also keep in mind that the GPS receiver is GPS only (no glonass/gallileo), and judging by the accuracy a pretty budget one too.
