new versio firmware updadted but the divice touchscreen is now not responding

after new firmware version edge820 the touch screen does not work. People please see what happens with the new firmware version. I can't do anything with the gps. the screen simply stopped responding to touches. in the previous version it worked perfectly. and it said that this new firmware version would solve some problems but what happened is that now nothing is working.

I didn't know that the firmware had been updated. When did that happen?

There has been no updates on the 820 for several years.

You can try one of the following reset option.

Non-prompted Non-Vol Clear - Clears NV and deletes all FIT files including Activities, Courses, Workouts.

1. Turn device off
2. Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
3. Press and release the power button
4. Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
5. Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared
6. The unit will restart and clear non-vol

Most recent version is 12.70 released Sep 2020. This version has been working well for most, including me. I think the problem is an issue with the specific unit or update and is unrelated to the Ver. A reset should probably fix this. Try the soft reset first. It doesn't delete any user data or configs. If that doesn't work, try the factory reset..

Soft reset +10 s press on the On/Off button

Factory Reset Clears NV and deletes all FIT files including Activities, Courses, Workouts.

Turn device off
Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
Press and release the power button
Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared

Thank you very much I will try that option. If it doesn't work I'll have to buy another one, unfortunately the prices are pretty bitter.
