Hi All,
I suspect this will not be news to many but may help some. My Edge 820 has served me well for quite a few years and has logged tens of thousands of miles over that period and like many, my battery life is starting to really suffer. For reference, I have sensors for HR, Cadence, Sram Red gear indicators, Quark PM, and a Speed sensor. I also have the remote for changing screens connected. I do not use navigation as my routes are all well known. My typical ride is 50-70 miles and 3-4.5 hours with about 2100 feet of climbing. Battery life at the end of a ride would be between 10% and 30%. I decided to try setting the display brightness to 10% rather than automatic. First observation was that I had absolutely no difficulty reading the screen at 10%. Was it bright, no, was it easily readable, absolutely. After 3.5 hours today my battery was at 55%. This is by far the largest remaining capacity I have seen after 3.5 hours by a significant amount. Your performance may vary but I thought I would post my results in the event someone else can benefit and wants to give it a try.
Safe riding!
