Edge 810 has playing up

Hi,

I have been using Garmin products for years. Over the last few weeks I have started having issues with my edge 810. Last week it was turning itself off immediately after starting up. Factory reset sorted this issue.

This evening I completed my ride, saved it and it notified me “upload complete”. This did not appear in garmin connect and I attempted to manually upload it, through selecting last ride and clicking the upload icon. This was saying “complete” but still wouldn’t appear in garmin connect.

I tried disconnecting and re-connecting the Bluetooth. Turning off both my phone and the device and neither process has worked. Now I am unable to access the “last ride”. The distance and timings show in “all rides” but it will not open.

Any suggestions or is this ride lost?

  • I just wanted to acknowledge that I am having the same exact issue you are experiencing with my garmin edge 810.  It's sad that garmin has completely abandoned this product .  I have been using gamins for years but I'm going to be switching over to Wahoo after my recent experience with the edge 810.  Garmin offered me a 20% coupon, what a joke!  So I could go buy a $400 paperweight?

  • Before my comment to the Edge 810, that your above replied to:  I did also go to look at Wahoo online; and did ask some questions to a Wahoo rep. questions.  Questions in which most would have interpreted to be from a customer who be undecided whether to stay with the brand at, or whether to change.
Wahoo was not saying anything attractive to buy their computer; hence no message received to a detailed answer for my original questions. I was looking for the correct mindsets, if Wahoo having them, to attract Me.
Finding Technical mindsets enuff to answer correct about technical malfunction/misfunction -- is difficult. Very time consuming.  Of where I make this comment at.

  • Maybe, the file system is corrupted.

Try running a checkdisk utility on it.

I think the 810 is older than the Wahoo RFLKT, which Wahoo abandoned years ago.

Your problem with your 810 has nothing to do with Garmin "abandoning it".

Not sure what you mean about "$400 paperweight". The new units work better than the 810.

    ==================

The Wahoo units are fine (lots of people like them). They aren't problem free. They don't work forever either.

The navigation is not as advanced (it's more like how the 500-520 units do it).

  • Ever observe any MAP inconsistency?: via what shows on the Garmin Map VS on a Google Map.
As I HAVE SEEN inconsistency on Google Map, vs what exist in real life, when walking through a small, tight location.
    As this being within city.
