Iphone Xs makes unwanted phone calls during a ride.

Hi,

I've been on several rides with my iPhone Xs in the jersey pocket, connected to the Garmin Edge 820, and find the phone has "butt dialed" numerous people. It freaks them out when they hear heavy breathing and nothing else. Anyone else have this problem? I wonder if the Garmin connection to the phone keeps the keypad out of lock mode, so sweat can make the touchscreen dial a number? It's very irritating, and Garmin software is generally buggy enough that my blame naturally falls there first. Sorry Garmin, but you earned that ticket.

Thanks,

Doug

  • hi Doug, I cannot solve your problem with the phone calling. I used to have my phone in my jersey pocket until one day I had a bit of a crash. when I got home I took the phone out & it was smashed & bent. so the solution I found was a saddle bag with 2 compartments the lower keeps the tube & tools & the top I put my phone in. I figured if I have another off at least the phone would have some protection under the seat, after all phones aren't cheap now are they.

  • Doug,

I have an Iphone X. my edge 820 is always connected to my phone as my wife follows my live track. Never had a problem. My phone only unlocks when I look at it. So - if my butt looked like my face I might have a problem.Grinning
