Edge 820 .tmp file recovery

Hi all,

Edge 820 back at Garmin because Bluetooth connection suddenly stopped working. Therefore I could not connect it to my Garmin Connect or Strava on iPhone again.

Troubleshooting learned me to reboot my Edge 820 device but before doing that I connected it to my desktop and copied a .tmp file (which I think is my last activity).

But when I open Garmin Connect on my desktop I could not upload this file because it is no .gpx format.

Is there any possibility I can recover my activity from this .tmp file?

hi, sorry to hear about your mishap

never seen a .tmp file on my 820

activities are stored in the ACTIVITIES folder as .FIT files

but, zip the .tmp file and upload here (drag & drop in your reply)

thanks for the answer. Tried to upload the zip file here. I guess because it is too big.

Any other ideas? :)

I can send it via ad hoc data exchange but then I need an email adress.

some people live in a world with cloud storage

post a link to the file on a cloud storage

btw how big is the file ? being too big for upload here

one more ... you could scan your device with a file recovery tool in search for the missing last activity fit file
