In version 12.30 i find my diferents sensor (vitesse, power and heart  frequence)

At the same time my old Edge800 finds and keeps the connection with the same sensors.

Everything was good before this new version.

Same problem here. After the update all  my ant+ sensors lose connection after 10 seconds and reconnect sporadicly. The connection last moslty 10 sec. and then they dissapear again. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4774859295

Hope you can fix this quickly.

I had the same problems as many others after upgrade to 12.30, HR sensor and power senors losing connection.

I found that before I hit the record button, everything is connected ok.  As soon as I hit start ride button, the sensors drop off.  If I end the ride, then they come back on line.  So something is happening during record mode.

I do wish Garmin would hurry up with an update, it's pretty disgraceful so many of their customers are having to deal with these issues, probably many thousands of them who don't read these forums and are not aware it is an issue affecting not just them.

yep, another Garmin user frustrated at this pretty poor s/w update. Who bench tested this, and how was it allowed to be released?

My edge820 now drops the Garmin H/R sensor reading almost upon connectivity.

I've ridden today and observed the Cadence sensor froze ,so was continually on 52rpm for a 2hr ride.

Nothing else has changed between the pre 12.30 setup and today - same sensors, all batteries fine and no new tech added.

What is the steer from Garmin/Garmin-Matthew to resolve this?

  • Had the 12.30 update and HR sensor stopped working, went for a ride today, before I left checked all sensors, HR, cadence, wheel speed were connected and working, 1/2 a mile down the road all gone. Checked in the settings -> sensors menu, everything flashing, sensors on the bike and the ones on my MTB back at home.

Continued my ride using the GPS so effectively the same functionality I had 3 years ago when I installed the free Strava app on a phone!

Got home, clicked stop, saved ride and "beep, beep, beep" all my sensors are now back HOW INFURIATING IS THAT!!!!!!!!

Garmin, get the 12.10 release, rename/tag it as 12.40 and push it out so we can all get our computers working again. Then test 12.30 yourselves, fix it and roll it out as 12.50. Don't ask your customers for data, they are customers not software testers.

And while you're at it give me the option to reconfigure the lap button to scroll through the screens so I don't have to keep dealing with that awful touch screen.

Please keep us all informed about a new software update. Need a 12.30 ASAP, latest update makes this expensive toy useless.

  • I have the same problem in version 12.30.

I put the bluetooth to off, wifi off and finally sensors work again.

If turn on bluetooth sensors keep lost connection.

I have similar issues with hr cadence and power data dropouts and no readings unless i have phone connection. Tried several times to ride without phone with dropout issues  every time. Now have to take phone on every workout. Have sent email to garmin now awaiting reply.

I have tried same with Bluetooth disconnected  and seems to have fixed the problem.

Matthew. Think that we have all agreed that the problem lies between the 820 head unit and the phone using bluetooth connection. If i "enable" my headset's connection to my iPhone, I lose all sensors. When I "disable" the connection, they all magically appear again. I suspect that maybe your internal testing only focussed on the latest Ant+/Bluetooth sensors, and didn't test the new software against the older Ant+ only sensors. As a matter of interest, my indoor bike that I use on rollers, also has a Cateye Speed sensor on the handlebars, which is bluetooth connected to the Cateye sensor on the forks. This has worked perfectly alongside the Garmin 820 for years, but since the 12.30 update, the Cateye also records speeds all over the place, before losing its connection to its own sensor completely. The whole issue seems to be definitely something to  do with the Bluetooth connection under 12.30

Hope this helps and like everyone else, look forward to a new update and quick fix. Thanks

  • Went out for a 3.5 hour ride today with the Bluetooth off, it still loses connection with the crank arm but only about every 20mins which is a lot better than before, also lost connection with the radar a few times, although it does find them straight away. never had this before the update. Also only had 37% battery left so a days ride is out now. All I can say now is thanks a lot garmin you have made a happy customer very unhappy.
