Grade % seems out of sync 820

After riding rollers for two or three months over the winter, have now started riding on road again, and notice that the Grade % seems to be very slow registering as well as recording low on  known % on uphill roads. It also seems to be over recording % on downhill sections. Can't understand why this would happen, and wondered if anyone else has come across this issue and if so, is there a fix for it.

  • The usual recommendation is to check and ensure the barometric sensor port is clear.   It's the tiny half moon shaped hole on the back toward the top of unit.

Next thing to try would be a factory reset.  Save all your setting first to make it easy to recover them.

FWIW:  I use one of several IQ apps for gradient that use the baro sensor and that I find work much better than the native gradient calculation which some say depends on GPS rather than the barometric sensor.  (which of course would make the first recommendation above moot)

Many thanks for the response. Have checked the 'half moon' hole and while it looks clear, I have made sure that it is definitely clear. Will be out again by Friday, so will see if it makes any difference then. Thanks again
