Firmware 12.10 Not Available

My 820 is on version 11.20. Garmin Connect is not showing the 12.10 update as available, saying “Software is up to date - Version 11.20.0.0”. Checking for updates in the system menu on the Edge also says no updates are available. Yet the sticky notice here says phased rollout was at 100% on the 17th, 6 days ago,

What’s the deal?

Do You have international version or any Far East version (TWN, APAC, etc)? Where did You buy it?

and check via file browser is there any gupdate.gcd on your 820's Garmin subfolder, sometimes the download is interrupted, if yes, delete this file manually and try to sync via Garmin Express again.

Given the web-based Garmin Connect is also reporting that my 11.20 firmware is the latest available, I doubt it’s anything to do with a half-completed download on the device itself, but I’ll take a look. I’m not sure what defines ‘international’ for Garmin (non-Swiss?) but the unit was purchased in Australia.

You likely have a regional model that will have it's own software updates.

Using a text editor or similar open the GarminDevice.XML file in the Garmin folder and report what the PartNumber is. It will be near the top of the file. From this I will be able to tell what unit you have.

the international version has the following model number from the GarminDevice.XML: <Model><PartNumber>006-B2530-00<

It's just now become available - I guess when they said the phased rollout was at 100%, that was not quite right... Anyway, device updating now as I type...

I have an UK bought version but still can't see 12.10 update. I deleted gupdate.gcd as well but no luck either. Any ideas? I've not had this problem in two years owning 820.

You could try manually installing the software.

Download the file in the link below, rename it to gupdate.gcd and place it in the Garmin folder on the Edge.
