Edge 810 Questions

So, I just got my first bike gps, the 810, and since Garmin just axed their old forum (why?!), I'm stuck posting here about the 810.

  • Is there any way to make the time estimates accurate? The time calculates based off of 9mph, or something, and never updates based on my actual speed
  • Same with the virtual partner
  • The vertical speed alternates between negative numbers and thousands of feet. The grade is usually right, so why is this so off?
  • Is it possible to remove the green trip log line from the map while riding?

Thanks

Like you I've just discovered that the old forum has disappeared, I also have an 810. They do some strange things don't they, I'm sure we're not alone in wondering why.

Sorry I can't be of any help with your questions.

This is derived from data in the course file. To fix it, one would have to create the file differently (it's not an issue with the unit). "Historically", people used a ride recorded earlier to navigate by (those files have the appropriate data). I don't know of any course creator that provides options to add the data correctly.

It's cyan (light blue). It always shows if you are recording a ride.
