Dropouts in speed graph

Looking on my latest ride in Garmin Connect I see a lot of strange dropouts in speed (the blue graph in the left pic). The Strava graphs look normal.

I ride on a bike lane at a steady pace without stopping, no dense trees or anything, using a Garmin 820 with cadence from my Assioma Duo power pedals.

What could the cause of this be? Bad satellite reception? Something changed in the plotting of graphs? I'm using GPS+Glonass.

In the right zoomed-in graph, with Cadence and Speed, it's clearly visible that I get cadence updates but speed dropouts around 32:20, for example. I haven't seen this behaviour previously.

  • probably the Polar flow page is using autofill where a gap is exist and the GC shows the raw datas without any autofill or smoothing. The Strava is using autofill in heart rate, you never see any dropouts in Strava HR graph but in the original file every dropouts are exist. but it could be a faulty tcx export also from Flow but i think your recording had already this issue with that Polar watch (but it is a Garmin site :) )
