Navigation shows Off Course

Gurus,

Have an Edge 820 running firmware 10.0. Navigating courses on recent routes has seen the unit sporadically display an "off course" warning. It then seems to eventually find the route and start navigating again.

Interestingly, during these sessions, I've been riding with a friend using a new Edge Explore who loaded the exact same route from RideWithGPS and he *never* has any navigation issues.

Anyone seen this or similar behavior or have a solution?

I've seen that a few times from the 820 (and from the 510 too). I believe it's a GPS issue. My 510 would flash up the "off course" warning at the same point the first few times I cycled a new route and used the 510 to navigate. I wasn't actually off course but the road was heavily tree lined and there was large houses on either side of the road so I'm thinking that was blocking the GPS signal.

I haven't seen this while mountain biking under tree cover. However, I happens non-stop on Strava live segments so I shut of sound if I'm not navigating a course. However, a friend just got the 1030 and I hear is beeping non stop when we are on a segment.
