Unable to Pair Android Pixel 2 - Garmin Connect Mobile 4.1 vs. 4.5 (min required)?

Update:

Looks like the eyes failed when reading the small print on a dark background...am indeed running 4.10, so this seems to now be some sort of hardware issue. My earlier 820 paired with no issues to the same phone. Am running Pie on the Pixel now.

Any advice appreciated.

Gurus,

Just received a replacement 820 running FW 9.1 and can't pair the device with my phone. According to the 820, it requires GC version 4.5, yet the latest and greatest version of GC that I can in install on my phone eppears to be version 4.1.

The Play Store indicates the current version "varies with device". I'm running a Pixel 2, which is a fairly recent phone.

*Am very confused*. Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve?

Thank you,
GG
  • I have a Pixel 2 phone I have paired with VivoActive 3
My Garmin Connect is V 4.10 ( newest version on the store I just double checked )
    I'm running Android Pie (V9)

I'm not sure that helps you any except to confirm you're running the newest Garmin Connect on your phone. Are you running Connect V4.1 or V4.10?
  • Replacing earlier text. Am running 4.10 and also successfully syncing to my VA3, but not to the Edge.

    Thanks,
    Seth
  • Closing out this thread: updating the 820 to firmware 10.0 allowed me to finally pair with the phone, though it took numerous tries. Process was *definitely* not as smooth as my last unit.
