Although I'm happy with the functionality of my 820 Unit, I still struggle to use the screen with gloves. During (winter) rides I would still like to be able to scroll the different fields, which almost seems impossible with thick gloves on. Using the auto scroll feature is not an option for me. Any solutions out here? I was wondering if Garmin could make it possible to let us choose the function of the LAP button, for either Lap reset or screen Scrolling......?
Had the same thought about the remote til I finally broke down and bought it, no it's why didn't I do it earlier hands never have to leave the bars. For me the only thing that would replace the remote would be the switch on top of the dura-ace hoods with DI2.
Thought the same thing while riding this weekend with winter gloves on and had to stop and take them off to switch screens, I've put a request in via https://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/form.html suggesting they make it programmable in the different profiles. For example, I'd like to use it as a pause button on Indoor mode, lap on Racing and scroll through screens on Training.
The 820 screen sensitivity is horrible...everyone (including Garmin) knows this...I agree with above statements. A simple APP that allowed the screen to be locked out...and then use the lap button to switch screens would be GREAT!!!
Yeah! I keep it up - for EDGE 830 will be nice when its raining and touchscreen is blocked we have ability to assign lap button to switch screens onlyvwhen touch locked or when it is assigned like hard change.
