Edge 820 8.40 software keeps defaulting back to Statute units for Distance and Speed

Edge 820 with 8.40 software keeps defaulting back to Statute units for Distance and Speed. All other units stay at metric. I?ve also had the unit just shutdown on me mid ride. The Edge 820just keeps on giving.
