Edge820 new firmware beta V8.17

when not already posted...version beta V8.17
Changes made from version 8.10 to 8.17:

Added Remote Display Mode, which allows pairing Garmin Forerunner to a Garmin Edge in order to view your Forerunner data on the Edge.
Added support for the turn review map, so you can choose to be shown a map for upcoming turns along your ride.
Made several improvements to course navigation to make it more robust.
Made improvements to reduce elevation drift and improve grade accuracy.

Followed instructions. 820 is now stuck on the boot screen, how do I fix that please.
Edit: update took forever to install, everything is "fine" now.

Tried with my F5X, doesn't work... I know, it's not a "Forerunner" !
Nevertheless, does any one know what could be the interest of this functionality ??

Interesting that the fallback firmware in the archive is 8.10 - I've not been offered that as an upgrade from 8.00. Any hints as to the changes between 8.00 & 8.10?

The extended display is designed to allow data from a compatible wrist mounted watch to be easily seen whilst on the bike. Think of a multi-sport event where you are recording the whole event on your watch, but want better visibility of the activity data when on the bike without having to move your hands. (Similar in concept to the Varia Vision)

Looks like my idea got implemented. I wasn't expecting Garmin to act that quickly!

Settings -> Activity profiles -> name of profile you wish to change -> Navigation -> Navigation Prompts (Text Only/ Map)

Updated my Edge 820 to 8.17, connected the FR935 to it. All working as I'd expect. The screen customisation is mirrored to the Edge.

8.17 tested on one ride only:

Added support for the turn review map, so you can choose to be shown a map for upcoming turns along your ride.
--> works nicely, BUT ONE BUG: high contrast mode not effective (small blue triangle instead of big white with black border)

And only English menu labels for added features over 8.00
