Mates 820 is playing up, and no longer tracks rides. On older Garmin devices like my 510 a complete reset is possible by formatting the internal storage. That might be more problematic on an 820 as it has a much larger storage with maps stored locally, which would need to be reinstalled. So question is, whats the best way to completely reset an 820?
Try the obvious one first....GPS is turned on for the 820?
And I know after doing a hard reset on my Edge 800 that it took nearly 20mins to achieve it's first GPS fix after I fired it up. How long are you giving it?
Yes, GPS was on. After a device reset (on the device itself), GPS started working again. It had been working OK previously, but recently wasn't finding a fix over half an hour or so, maybe the quick fix data had been corrupted or something, anyway, seems OK now.
