How to completely reset an 820?

Mates 820 is playing up, and no longer tracks rides. On older Garmin devices like my 510 a complete reset is possible by formatting the internal storage. That might be more problematic on an 820 as it has a much larger storage with maps stored locally, which would need to be reinstalled. So question is, whats the best way to completely reset an 820?
  • Tried a device reset and hasn't fixed the issue (not getting a GPS connection), suspect it's back to Garmin for the unit.

Try the obvious one first....GPS is turned on for the 820?

And I know after doing a hard reset on my Edge 800 that it took nearly 20mins to achieve it's first GPS fix after I fired it up. How long are you giving it?

    cheers

  • Yes, GPS was on. After a device reset (on the device itself), GPS started working again. It had been working OK previously, but recently wasn't finding a fix over half an hour or so, maybe the quick fix data had been corrupted or something, anyway, seems OK now.
