Edge 820 Corrupt Fit file

Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.

Unzip, then import into Garmin Connect using the import data page

Repaired using Fit…

Can we remove this as a sticky?

lets NOT remove this as a sticky - it allows those of us who assist with fixing corrupt .fit files an easy place to find the requests, and it saves cluttering up the forums…

Hi,
Suffered my first corrupt file yesterday after a decent ride out and hoping someone might be able to work their magic on it. Having read a few things maybe caused by going into battery save mode whilst out (?). Appreciate it if anyone can help.

kiwimtnbkr Mike, thanks a lot for that, I can now at least show the Mrs where I was for 5 hours :-) Out of interest do you know if this was likely due to battery level or possibily a full Activities folder ?

Fordy5 - it looks like all the data was saved, an assumption on my part, so I would say it was due to the battery level.

Hello,

yesterday I have rode rainy 200 km brevet. When paused at finish the ride was discarded (Edge 820, rain drops on screen maybe?). I have manage to retrieve file from device using testdisk utility but it is corrupted. Can pls anyone help me fix it?

Hi, did my hardest ride yesterday and Garmin went to battery save after 3 hours. Ride has correct distance and time in Garmin but won't upload and have tried to upload it to connect and it says TIF file is not supported. Bit gutted. If it has corrupted it would be amazing if someone could salvage it. File exceeds the limit to attach though.
