Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.
  • Hello! I have also been a victim of a corrupt file, for the first time but still... Can you help? The file is in the attachment. Thanks a lot in advance.

    micmac24,

Give this file a go :)
  • stepomfret,

Give this file a try :)

If you haven't deleted old fit files from the activities folder that is one reason for full memory.

You have one big jump in distance between records I am guessing maybe the unit was paused while riding.

Bart - Many Thanks that works a treat. I had actually deleted all activities before I set out on the ride and only had 1 saved course, so no idea as to what was up with the 820. I had stopped for some refreshments at 2:23 into the ride and paused the ride. When I restarted it, that's when I received the "Memory is full" error. There was then a thin red line all around the outside of the displayed page with a chequered flag icon 2/3 down the right hand side, very odd.

I have factory reset the device the morning and all was well on my last ride.

    Thanks again,

    Steve

  • Steve,

You should pass this one on to Garmin it is a strange one, give them a call and I am sure they will have you zip the Garmin folder minus the .img files it take forever if you include those. I open the file again and at 2:23:47 is where the jump in distance occurs Garmin will have better luck at breaking down the file plus they will have error code file as well.

Here is a link to an image because Garmin Forum has to be the most ridiculous site to post images or it's just me :)

    Thank you very much Mike

I've another issue with a fit file :(
Please could you fix it ?

Currently my Edge 510 turns off during every bike ride
I deleted all the activities and I'll see if it's better.

    Regards,
