Is there a way to send activities from garmin connect to edge 820?

I have imported my strava activities to garmin connect.

And now i would like to import those very same activities into my garmin edge 820 device (so i can have a full history of my rides).

So far i have been unable to do so. The only thing i managed to do is go to each activity (on garmin connect) and click on SEND TO DEVICE, one by one. But the problem is that the files don't go to my activities (in history - rides, on the edge 820). Instead, they get saved in the COURSES menu, which defeats the purpose.

How can i IMPORT those activities into my garmin device, does anyone know? And is it possible?

Thanks.
Tiago

    Hello,

The way you are sending activities to your device is just as you have figured out; You may use a past activity for routing purposes. As far as I know, there is no way to keep the full history of activities within the device itself. If anything, you should regularly clean your old rides to keep more available memory. Since Edge 820 has quite a lot of space it might no longer be necessary (unlike, say, Fenix 3, or older Edge devices).

Garmin Connect is the place that is intended to keep your history and stats. The device itself is intended to be useful to you out on the road, track or field.

Just my two cents, I hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for your answer. It's a shame because i really wanted to have it on the go (on my device), instead of looking up Garmin Connect.

Anyway, though luck. Thanks again, have a good weekend.

I also upload my rides FROM the edge to Connect / Strava. And I delete my ride history from the Edge periodically. I haven't found any reason to keep ride history on the device when the are readily available on the Garmin Connect app or Strava. But I do sometimes create a course from a ride and save those on the device.
