Strava live segment interfrered by virtual partner

When I´m on a strava live segment It is always interrupted by a message "virtual partner has finished" (or something like that).
The segment does continue, but the prompt makes it impossible to see the progress and the map. And I also think that "time ahed/behind" doesn't count against the KOM but against the virtual partner.

Is this a bug or is there some way I can disable virtual partner or work around the problem?

You should be able to select who's time you compete against (KOM, someone you're following or yourself), I don't have my 820 with me at the moment and I haven't done it recently, but I'll try and remember to look when I get home from work.

I have the same problem.. The garmin say "segment no complete" but i am on segment yet. In 10 climbs of 15 i obtain the same message...

Mine is disabled but I still get the message.
  • I have a 520 and I have Virtual Partner turned off for the global level. Virtual Partner is enabled when you start a segment in order that you get the calculation of whether you are ahead of or behind the pace needed to complete the segment before your chosen goal time (whether that be Goal, PR, Rival or KOM in that order).

When Virtual Partner determines that you are not going to beat the chosen target time, Virtual Partner will end before the segment is complete (this is the first message you see). When the segment completes you then get the details of how you went against your goal time.

There is no disabling Virtual Partner for segments.

You can choose what time you want to be measured against. The easiest way I found is to set goal times equal to your PR in Strava. That then becomes the default on the unit and you don't need to mess around with the settings on the unit to change it when it updates from Garmin Connect. When you beat your PR, you simply set a new goal time.
