So I am getting the audio alerts during navigations where it sends the directions through the cell speaker. However I can't really hear that in my jersey pocket in the wind. I would prefer it just beep like my older edge unit is there a way to set this option? Also I found that when I got a text there wasn't an audio alert at all and I would like that to be the generic beep on the edge unti as well so I notice it?

Disable "Audio Prompts" in the Garmin Connect app. You must have enabled it at some point because by default, it's off.
