Edge 520 and text alerts

Does anyone know if the 520 can display an actual text message that you are receiving or does it just let you know that you have received one. My 520 lets me know that I have received a message but it doesn't show me the actual message.

On my Fenix is does show me the actual message which is great.

Thanks for the help!
  • It should show you the message. Go to the status page, scroll down to notifications and select the message. Or hit the context menu button on any training page and select the notification option.

It is working perfectly now. User error on my part...
  • So in order to see a text message the user has stop to riding and dig into menus?
  • No notification

I am not getting any notification when receiving a new text message. I am able to see the content of the text message under the "Missed call and texts" menu. is this how the Call/text notification is supposed to work?
  • Text/call notifcation working now

I had to remove the Edge 520 device from the Bluetooth menu on my iPhone 6 and then redo the pairing to get this working.
  • I am having the same issue. All I see on the Edge is that I have a text message from XXX. I can never see the message anywhere.

After you get the notification, press the "enter" button (top right). The messages should should up in a menu called "Missed calls and texts".

So in other words, the texts will NEVER show up immediately on the screen? One must always press a button to see the actual text message? Is that correct? Can someone please confirm. Because this feature is really confusing to me, and unfortunately this thread has not made it any clearer.

    Thanks.

When someone sends you a text message, you get a notification at the bottom of the screen, indicating who the sender is. If you want to read the content of the message, you have to do what i described in my previous comment.
