Navigation problems EDGE 520Plus

I have had one problem after another with my device.  Pairing it was the first problem and Garmin replaced it for me with a reconditioned one.  I was all set to use it on a club ride today.  It missed telling me about one quite important turn but then it just stopped navigating completely.  It started again about an hour and a half later and 10 miles away (we had stopped for coffee).  I was following a group so it wasn't a problem but I have no faith that the device will navigate me correctly if I am on my own or leading a group.  I am so frustrated and can't think what can be the problem with it.  It has recorded the ride accurately so it wasn't a signal problem.  Any advice.

  • I had basically the same problem.  Garmin is going to tell you there is a problem with your phone making a connection during your ride.  In my case I found that this wasn't true.  It was actually the version of Garmin connect I had on my phone.  Search the forums for "revert" and see if going back to a previous of Connect clears up the problem.

  • Yeah, It also happened to me once. Navigation just got stuck. Everything else fine tho.

Then maybe one hour later navigation picked up and worked okay.

  • They are going to replace it again with another refurbished one.  I used it in tandem with someone elses yesterday, mine missed most of the turns but the borrowed one was fine.  I was then told to do a factory reset and then could not pair it again.  Third time lucky.  I have no idea why it never works for me.
