Updating map issue

I sync'd my Edge 520 plus and it said there was a map update. So, I started to update. First it said it would take several hours which in itself is ridiculous. But once it got to 49% complete and 2 hrs 30 min left, it stopped. It has been there for 4 hours. What do I do now?

    I have had the same issues with the latest map updates on my Garmin Edge 520 Plus.  I sent a message to Garmin support and received an email response with numerous steps to take, including turning off the firewall, ensuring that all firmware updates are installed, etc.  I went through all of the steps and the results are the same.  I emailed support to follow up and have not heard back with any solutions.  I am now at a loss as to how to resolve this issue.   

  • Try using Garmin Express. It will allow to reinstall maps, even if it thinks the maps are already installed. So if maps are only partly downloaded and installed, GE should be able to force a new installation. I had a somewhat similar problem (not quite, but close enough), and a reinstall of maps fixed it.
