Edge 520 battery drains too quickly.

I used this device without problem for years. It will not hold a charge for more than a few miles even though it says it is fully charged. This device software is updated to 13.0.

    Li-Ion batteries degrade as they age and as your unit is a few years old, it will be starting to fail. You will either need to have the battery replaced or run it from an external power bank. That probably isn’t what you are wanting to hear. Sorry!

    Thank you, I figured that might be the case.  Is it worth changing the battery myself with an online kit? Or should I send it into Garmin for the battery replacement?

    I haven’t had to make that choice yet, but when the time comes I will probably DIY or upgrade. I need to use an external battery on long rides anyway. Be aware that there is a small risk of breaking the screen with the DIY option.
