Edge 520 - Livetrack has no data

The last couple of rides, my Livetrack feed has had no data.  When I start the ride, I get the "Livetrack Started" message on my 520, my wife gets the email link and all that, but there is no data coming in at all (she gets some sort of "no location data" type of error).

When I stop the ride, I get a  message saying that LIvetrack has ended but it seems to not actually close the stream.  I end up having to stop the livetrack on my cellphone (Samsung s9).  Nothing has changed on the phone or GPS in months.

The activity file in Garment Connect has all the data and looks normal, the livetrack map is just a map of the general area with no data or tracking on it at all.

Any ideas?

  • Any update on this GARMIN - LIVE Track has not worked now for well over a month - this is crazy.

  • I just switched back to Garmin Connect version 4.29.  Live track work now.  The downside is that you must turn off automatic updates in Google Play.

  • I feel it's necessary to keep this issue at the top of this list of threads.

  • Yip. Why don't Garmin come out and say there is an issue. I have fixed mine by reverting to an old version of Garmin connect on my phone. I have never ever had to this for any other app 

    Just ridiculous. Will be looking to move for next device purchase which will be soon as Edge 520 battery life is now pathetic..

  • same, not worked for a month. It works on my vivoactive 3.. not my 520. please fix this garmin

  • I got an update from Garmin... but it's not looking good.  In an email the rep who opened my ticket said:


    I have checked on the status of this ticket and unfortunately the issue is still being worked on by our engineering team. I expect the issue will be resolved in a future app update, but at this time it does not look like they have been able to either determine or resolve the underlying issue here."  I think it would help if more people submitted tickets and asked for it to be escalated.
    Still on 4.29 to make livetrack work

  • I think we all have to face the reality that this problem is now over 2 months old.  I think it goes without saying that this does not seem to be of concern to Garmin.  My only guess is that the people who actually write the software are contract employees and not actual employees of Garmin.  Garmin probably has to pay per release and hours worked and they've just decided that this glitch does not warrant the work that we all believe it does.

  • I hope so.  The thing that I find unusual is that in my correspondence with Garmin I have actually mentioned their lack of presence on this thread.  I have actually quoted some of the things said in this thread and told them that the answer to many of the questions they were asking me could be found in this thread.  But still... nothing.  I'm really at a loss to explain their lack of participation in this thread.  I actually find it troubling.
