How to pan map

Hi there,

When I am using the map on a ride I understand that holding the "select" key (top right) allows me to then use the up / down keys to zoom in / out.

But is there a way of panning the map?

    You don't say what device you are using: the following is for 520 Plus firmware 5.10

    With map page showing,  press upper right button

    Scroll down once to Pan/Zoom, press upper right button, scroll down twice to Browse Map, press upper right button

    You should now be on a screen that allows you to zoom with up and down buttons

    To pan: the upper right button toggles through options

    • [default] zoom
    • Pan up/down
    • Pan left/right

    Thanks for this Ian. I should have been clearer in my question as I meant whether it was possible to pan the map within the data screen (ie without having to come out to a menu). I have now experimented a lot and conclude that it's not possible. Thanks again.

    No problem. I find the panning too slow and difficult to be of practical use. If I need to get a wider/better view beyond the immediate area, I get out my phone and look on that!
