Hi ,my 520 is not charging above 15%

hi ,my Garmin 520 is randomly charging up to only 3-23% ,I’ve let it run flat ,plugged back in and it’s sat at 3% where as the time before it charged to 15% max .
Garmin wanted £94 for a refurb exchange (new one costs only £150) . Would a replacement battery solve the issue or does the problem lie somewhere else .

What have you tried so far?

If you haven't already, try a different cable. Or a different power source... a computer USB port or a phone charger.
Inspect the conditions of the USB contacts on the device. If they are dirty a very gentle rub with a wooden toothpick could clean it up.
