Can't connect Edge 520 Plus with Samsung Galaxy 8+

My Edge 520 Plus after my initial pairing with my Samsung galaxy 8+ phone I've never been able to connect again. This has become so frustrating. I have tried a dozen times to connect it again but I have not succeeded once. I use the Android 9 on my mobile phone. When I connect it with the cable and the Garmin connect then I have no problem switching activity

  • Sounds like a call to Garmin Support is in order.  I have found the support agents are pretty good at talking through procedures and finding the root cause.  If you have not already done so, remove the Garmin Connect Mobile app, remove the bluetooth pairing to the device, and remove the phone pairing from the device.  Power cycle all of them and start it all over again.  That's likely to be the first thing Support is going to have you do so give it a try.

  • Thanks for advice. I tried removing the Garmin Connect Mobile app but I did not remove bluetooth pairing (device and phone). I'll try and tell you what's happened. Thank you.

  • First of all, thank you once again. I did what you wrote and finally I connected the device and the phone. With all of this, I did a hard reset of the Garmin Edge 520 Plus. How long will it work, I really do not know? Will an update break the connection?
    Every time I turn on the device I have a worry about whether to connect to the phone.
    Maybe I should listen to the advice and buy a Wahoo device!
    Unfortunately, this is not a good advertising for Garmin devices!

    I had the same issue trying to connect to Edge520 with Samsung Note FE and Note 5.  Nothing worked even I hard reseted Edge520.  Cleared cache or uninstalled Garmin Connect didn't work.  I paired Edge520 successfully by accidently removing and adding Edge520 device that was linked to my account on Garmin Connect.  Make sure your phone does not have Edge520 connect in bluetooth device.  Let me know if anyone try this method and work.  It works for me.

    I had to remove the device from my Garmin Connect and went through the process of adding it again and it worked.
