Auto upload stopped working

Hi

I have an Edge 520 and 820. I've always had auto-upload enabled on both devices and it's always worked... until now.

I have them both paired with an iPhone 6s. Now, when I finish and save a ride, the ride does not upload until I start the Garmin Connect app on the phone. Also, even though the phone's bluetooth settings show the Edge devices as connected, the devices themselves don't show 'phone connected' until the Garmin Connect app is started. And as soon as the Garmin Connect app is closed, the Edge devices show 'phone disconnected'.

I'm guessing this must be due to the phone/app and not the Edge devices because the problem affects both devices and it started at the same time when no changes had been made to them.

I've tried removing the Edge devices from the phone and re-adding them but that didn't fix it.

Any ideas for how I get auto-upload working again?

    Mine seems to have quit working about the time I moved to iOS 12.4.  Both Edge 520 Plus and BT_Edge 520 Plus show connected in phone and texts/phone calls appear on my Garmin.

  • I've got a S9 Plus and the 520 Plus.  Both connect no problems, just that same issue with the auto uploading not working unless I have the Garmin Connect App up and running on the phone.  Just update to 5.40 and still a problem. Wonder if Android system updating recently is causing yet another problem that the Garmin connect hasn't caught up with

  • Hi everyone, i also have this problem. Workout data failed to upload to my phone. So i try to reinstall garmin app on my phone but didnt fix anything. 

    Here is solution for your garmin. You need to update your garmin software on garmin express using computer. And then update ur software. This how it fix my garmin edge 520 into normal again. My garminprevious software was 2.30, after update now is 13.20. Hopefully this help your problem. 

  • I've had this problem with my Edge 520 Plus for over a year.  Updates on both my Garmin and Samsung Galaxy A50 have done nothing to resolve this problem.  I am forced to plug my Garmin into my laptop each time to upload through Express to Connect.  Even though the Garmin pairs with Connect through my phone app, it WILL NOT auto upload.  Only manually through my laptop apps.  I even contacted Garmin via a phone call and they only recommended trying a total wipe and reload of my 520 Plus.  Frustrating!!!
    DOES GARMIN EVEN CARE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM???
