Help with corrupt fit file

Might as well start a thread for this like they have over in the 500 forum.

I've only had my 520 for a week, and I really like it. The only issues I've had so far are that sometimes the bluetooth requires me to restart on the device to work properly, and then tonights FIT file is really corrupt so I can't load it over to strava.

The online FIT tool doesn't fix it, and then I opened it in golden cheetah. It seems the timestamps are all whacky, where it should be increasing every second, but it looks like the stamps are becoming integer overflows. The data is there, I just don't know of a way to edit all of the timestamps by just setting them as monotonically increasing seconds after they start getting corrupt in the file.

Any ideas?

ok shame, thanks for looking. It was definitely showing me data whilst riding but it says different. Also shows that I did 126km so its recorded the length and the elevation but not the gps data for some of it. Thanks will try solving the freezing problems and see if that fixes things for the future.
  • I really hate Garmin Touchscreen... accidentally discarted today activity, please GARMIN add a DELETED folder in new firmware to avoid this problems.

Anyone kind enought to try to fix my recovered file (can't import fit file seems corrupt and i can't affort fit file tools license)

    hi jMarti1978,

Give this file a try - note you had a wee bit of corrupted data but it doesn't look like you've lost too much data during the recovery.

    cheers

    Hello,

Wondering if you could please view the attach corrupted file and see if anything can be salvaged. Froze 200 metres from finishing point after a 175km ride.

    Thank you

    hi Cade,

There is only 4 secs / 10metres worth of data contained in the file. The rest of the data just isn't there to recover.

    cheers

Hi, my latest ride resulted in an invalid file from my 520 which won't sync. I've run it through fitfile tools which produced "unsupported file types".
    Can anyone help pls.

    Hi,

Got my first corrupt .fit file. Managed to upload it to training peaks, but strava and garmin don't like it. Could someone try fixing it for me? Thanks in advance!
