Possible to Pause a Ride?

Hi there,

Quick question, if you don't mind.

I have just invested in a 520Plus and so far very impressed, easy to use, quick to pick up satellites and good navigation (although I have only had the chance to test it on routes that I already know like the back of my hand anyway). However, I would like to be able to class my whole days commute as a single ride. On both the 200 and 500 this was easy ... stop the timer, turn off the Edge, and when it is turned back on at the end of the day and the timer restarted it just picks up where I left off. Does the 520Plus do the same?

The reason I ask is that stopping the timer produces the end of ride menu, offering the options of saving or discarding. Can I just turn off at this point, and pick up at the end of the day without losing anything, or do I need to do this another way?

Thanks in advance,
David
  • Yes, 520 plus works in just the same way. Press stop then power off (don't save the ride at this point). Later, power on and press start
  • Excellent, thank you.

If I had had my brain turned on I would have tried this out before heading into school this morning to see whether it worked.
  • If you need to charge it during the pause, use a phone charger or power pack. Plugging into a computer will auto-save the ride.

Turning it off and then on again the unit will ask if you want to save or discard the ride - just disregard that and press the lower right side button ( if i remembered it correctly) and the unit will return to where it left off.

The first time it happened to me i panicked and abandoned everything and re-navigated and lost all the ride stats.
