Firmware 12.90 Battery Drain

v12.90 has not solved the battery drain reintroduced with v12.80.

Did a 1h ride today and battery went from 100% to 70%.

Should be easy for Garmin to sort out given they eventually sorted the previous battery drain problem, so they should know what is causing the problem. ;)

Thanks for that pulpitus, some sellers are saying that their 600mAh batteries are higher capacity than the originals, but it seems that isn't true. I will give Garmin a few more weeks to come out with the update that they have said they are working on and see what difference that makes.
I'm a bit worried about possibly damaging mine opening it up as others have done, so I only want to do it as a last resort.

Changing the battery was much easier than expected, I was also afraid of breaking the display. If your battery is more than 2 years old you can assume that is time to buy a new device or change the battery. I bought a wahoo but was still in the box so I decided to try replacing the battery. Wahoo refunded.

My 520 went from using 8% per hour to 20-24% per hour depending on the temperature with zero backlight, powermeter, HR & bluetooth to phone connection. Rolling back to 9.1

I just tried to replace my battery today and the screen started to delaminate at the corner so now there is a small section of screen that is unreadable :(
I can still use it, but it's one more reason now to get a Wahoo :)
If I can find a Varia radar display for sale on it's own without the radar unit which I already have then I will buy a Whaoo and still be able to use my Varia.

Anyone want to buy a cheap replacement battery and tools to do the job?
